Associate Paid Media Specialist
Location: Memphis TN or Austin, TX
Type: Full TimeMin. Experience: Entry Level

We are looking for an Associate Paid Media Specialist to work with us at Archer Malmo and join our growing media team. In this role, you will assist with media planning and managing campaigns across multiple media channels like paid search, paid social, display and video, as well as learn how to analyze the data. This position would operate either in our Memphis office, Austin office or remotely.

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE:

  • Gain hands-on experience by managing campaigns across multiple media channels like paid search, paid social, display and video.
  • Work with vendor partners to plan and execute campaigns that work toward driving measurable client business results. 
  • Use data-driven thinking to monitor and optimize ad campaigns to ensure they are running smoothly and key client KPIs are being met.
  • Assist in the creation of reports, real-time dashboards and analyses that provide truly strategic insights.
  • Stay current with industry benchmarks and new opportunities in a constantly changing environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS YOU POSSESS:

  • 1-3 years of experience running paid search, social media campaigns and/or display ads
  • Experience or certification in Google AdWords, Bing Ads and/or Google & Adobe Analytics
  • Hands-on experience with Facebook Advertising
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables
  • A genuine affinity and passion for data-driven work
  • Interest in media / advertising industry trends
  • Prone to action and eager to learn

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with third-party ad serving software
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and Google Slides

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AS BRAND STRATEGIST: 

  • Understanding clients' business, target audiences and factors relevant to the brand's growth
  • Analyzing research, data and trends, and synthesizing into insights and strategic direction through creative briefs, audience personas, POVs and presentations
  • Developing brand architecture, positioning, strategy and messaging frameworks; championing the strategy from inception through execution of creative work
  • Creating comprehensive, competitive reviews and situational analyses
  • Briefing and collaborating with teams across creative and communications planning
  • Leading ideation and brainstorming sessions, with support
  • Staying up to date on consumer research, market trends and industry news, and sharing findings with teams and clients

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS YOU POSSESS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a strategic role, preferably with an agency or in-house marketing team
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving mindset; also comfortable in ambiguity and able to form strategic hypotheses with minimal but sufficient information
  • Strong research skills and some experience with:
    • Desk research: sourcing and applying secondary research such as reports, statistics and articles to develop creative strategies
    • Research design: writing survey questionnaires and/or interview discussion guides; determining appropriate methodologies to meet objectives
    • Syndicated research: experience with Warc, eMarketer and social listening tools (a plus, but not required)
  • Exceptional writing skills, with a command of nuance and artful editing with brevity
  • Clear and precise communicator, curious and receptive listener
  • Strong presentation skills a plus, with opportunity for on-the-job learning
  • Generalist collaborator who can work well alongside creatives, public relations, social media strategists and communications planners
  • Ability to present and uphold a viewpoint or information clearly, concisely and with rationale
  • Proactive and communicative, with ideas and opinions as well as needs and blockers

Project Manager

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AS PROJECT MANAGER: 

  • Develop proposals for our clients, working with creative, technology, strategy, account service and other disciplines to manage resources and ensure project deliverables to client satisfaction
  • Work directly with leads across the agency to build well-structured, comprehensive project plans and scopes for both creative and technical projects and initiatives
  • Assume accountability for successfully delivering multiple simultaneous projects from discovery and design through implementation and beyond
  • Be the repository for all details about the projects you oversee
  • Manage meetings of internal and external clients
  • Identify and manage project risk
  • Effectively communicate issues and opportunities to clients, team members and management in a timely manner
  • Solicit, understand and ensure completion of the business functional requirements for projects, and convey these requirements to the proper teams
  • Ensure requirements are synchronized with capabilities, given time and resource constraints
  • Closely monitor change requests to prevent unapproved requirement modifications and scope creep

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS YOU POSSESS:

  • 2 to 4 years experience managing the full life cycle of projects in an agency or similar environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage both creative and technical projects for internal and external clients
  • Knowledge of commonly used project management concepts, practices and procedures

Social Media Specialist

Archer Malmo is looking to add a confident, savvy Social Media Specialist to our Social Media team.

We are looking for someone who is a curious early adopter of new social media platforms and is an expert at navigating the most popular ones. They have a solid understanding of the technology and language of social media, and have a vision of its creative potential.

This is an opportunity to not only spend your days defining and managing a brand’s presence on social media, but also to gain invaluable experience working day-to-day with agency teams — including communications strategy, brand strategy, paid media and creative teams. You’ll enjoy collaborating in an environment focused on building each other up and producing the best work possible.

A successful candidate for this role will be able to own a brand’s social media presence and drive impact beyond likes, comments and shares toward business goals and objectives. Candidates will be able to work both within a team environment as well as independently and with confidence.

YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AS SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST: 

  • Own the full social media presence for a key agency client with minimal direction, meet deadlines and manage editorial calendars
  • Work with various teams on integrated campaigns, including facilitating influencers, hosting sweepstakes, planning giveaways, etc.
  • Collaborate and ideate with the creative team in content development to guide social graphics and copy, occasionally creating graphics or copy independently for some posts
  • Manage and continually refine the client’s social strategy, working closely with the Lead Social Strategist
  • Report on organic social media performance; identify insights and actionable opportunities to improve metrics and reach objectives
  • Take initiative and propose ways to constantly elevate the work and processes
  • Remain current and curious about emerging social trends and experiment with ways to capitalize on them to elevate the work

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS YOU POSSESS:

  • Previous experience in social media marketing and editorial calendar content planning
  • Heavy social media user — Facebook and Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. — and solid understanding of native functionalities (ie. polls, live, filters, etc.)
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver — resourceful and able to adapt under tight deadlines
  • Experience in copywriting for social media 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (or comparable platform) and ability to create visual, graphical content 
  • Ability to communicate ideas and strategies coherently, both internally to teams and externally to clients
  • Conscious of the current and evolving social climate and can work with PR to advise how a brand should navigate it
  • Experience creating reports and interpreting insights and metrics, and analyzing them to form recommendations to optimize content
  • Understanding of the digital world and the role social media plays in day-to-day interactions with a brand, and able to put this understanding into action

 

Bonus points if you’ve had experience in:

  • Managing ‘boosted’ posts through Facebook Ads Manager
  • Community management
